North Dakota Home Inspector Continuing Education Information
Home inspectors in North Dakota are licensed by the Secretary of State of North Dakota. The requirements for licensing are minimal compared to other states with licensing and there is no requirement for education.
The requirements to be a licensed home inspector in North Dakota are:
- Be at least eighteen years of age.
- Complete Home Inspector Registration application SFN 54381 (122kb)
- Submit proof of satisfactory completion of an examination on home inspection offered by the following:
- Submit proof of current errors and omissions insurance coverage in an amount of one hundred thousand dollars or more covering all home inspection activities.
- $200.00 registration fee made payable to the Secretary of State.
Renewing a North Dakota home inspector license is very easy. There is no continuing education requirement. North Dakota home inspectors can use i-Course home inspection courses to maintain their professional membership requirements.
43-54-05 Renewal of registration. A registration issued under this chapter expires June thirtieth of each calendar year and may be renewed upon submission of a renewal fee of fifty dollars and provision of proof of continuous insurance coverage as required for registration. The application for renewal must be postmarked before July first of each year. The registrar shall cancel the registration of an individual who fails to file a timely application for the renewal of registration. The cancellation must be without notice or opportunity for hearing. An individual whose registration has been canceled and who desires to reregister must file an initial application, pay the initial application fee, and provide proof of current errors and omissions insurance. An individual registered under this chapter may not engage in any activity under this chapter after June thirtieth of any year unless that individual has a valid registration.
